Introducing Eco-friendly products into your home has an impact that is both personal and global. You can cut back your electric bills, increase the value of your home, and reduce your carbon footprint. Most homeowners have invested in a few “green” appliances already, but many of them are on the fence when it comes to going solar.

An investment in solar panels is not only an investment in the future well being of your children, but it also has huge benefits for you in the present. There are so many reason to go solar, but to keep things short we’ve outlined the top five reasons why you should buy solar electric panels for your home.

1. There are many government incentives for homeowners who add solar panels to their homes. Tax breaks, low-interest loans, and Energy Star programs can cut the amount you pay for solar products and installation by a ton.

2. Adding solar panels to your home instantly increases its value by 10 percent without raising your property taxes. And when it comes time to sell your home, buyers will be lining up at the door because they love homes that are energy efficient. It means that their utility bills will be lower.

3. Did you know that coal supplies almost 85 percent of the electricity used in the nation? With solar panels, you will help cut back the use of a fossil fuel that contributes to global warming when burned.

4. When it comes to solar power, you often here the phrase “free yourself.” This is because you will no longer have to deal with rising utility cost. You may even see your electric meter spin backwards, as many homeowners with solar panels have. You will also never have to worry about power outages.

5. Solar panels use a clean and renewable power source. You can use them anywhere in the world and know that you are doing something good for the environment and for future generations.

Now, its time to go “wireless” and unplug from the electrical grid.

Nowadays, folks tend to be much more conscious then actually with the growing electricity crisis. Our non-renewable energy sources that we have depended on for centuries, such as coal, oil and natural fuel are rapidly running out. At the current rate of extraction, we may very well be completely out of fossil fuels within another 50 years or so.

Not just are all of us running out of these fossil fuels, but our ever increasing reliance upon them has caused irreversible damage to our environment. The threat of global warming, which most everyone is familiar with, has happened, in part, to the huge consumption of fossil fuels and the subsequent release of carbon dioxide into the air. And, the recent disaster inside Gulf of Mexico, wherever hundreds of millions of gallons of oil leaked into the ocean from the sunken oil rig is another example of the dangers of fossil fuel extraction. Thousands of people’s livelihoods, as well as the local habitat was destroyed by the enormous oil spill.

So, where are we to turn for a solution to our energy crisis? I would suggest looking up, up to the sun! Energy from the sun does not cost a thing and is always going to be around. As extended as our sun continues to burn, we will probably be offered with unlimited solar power, plus the sun also is never planning to charge us a cent for it!

An individual may not be aware of how much you really can save by installing a solar energy system in your home. They require minimal maintenance, and are unobtrusive. As long as they are provided the necessary sunlight, they will continue to provide energy. Using solar energy, you can save quite a bit on your monthly electric bill, or if you choose to expand your solar panel system, you truly could power your entire property with solar energy and ELIMINATE your energy bill.

Many people today also are choosing to develop their own photo voltaic panel systems. If you like working with your hands and can do basic construction, then you too could build your own solar panels, and will save lots of cash in the process, compared to having them professionally installed.

Go for solar energy, the energy solution of the 21st century!

Ready to make the leap to solar energy in your home and slash your energy bill in half? Then check out the <noindex>green diy energy review</noindex> to download the #1 top-rated solar panel building guide, the <noindex>GreenDIYEnergy Guide</noindex>.

If you want to save money on your electricity bills then you may be looking for alternative energy solutions. Fluctuating energy prices and a difficult economic climate are leading many people to look for savings on their household costs. There are several ways to change your energy supply and save money.

Climate change is also encouraging individuals, organizations and governments to invest in green technologies. Installing solar or <noindex>wind power</noindex> in your home will contribute to the fight against global warming. Having your house properly insulated and using sustainable green energy will mean that your household reduces its carbon footprint dramatically.

There is no reliable average figure for energy savings as there are too many variables for each case. However you can get a good idea of the possible savings you could make by using an energy calculator. There are many websites which have them and you just need to fill in the information about your house and electricity consumption. It will use this information to work out how much money you can save by using different technologies. This may help you decide which type of sustainable technology to install and how much money it is worth investing.

Most people are looking at solar and wind energy for their homes. There are advantages associated with both types of power but it depends on where you live. Obviously there is no point in using solar power if you live in a cold place with only small amounts of sunlight.

The photovoltaic cells in solar panels need a lot of sunlight to generate significant amounts of electricity. Therefore they have to be placed in a location where they can take in as much of the light throughout the day as possible. For many years solar power did not represent good value for money to many people as the installation costs were very high. However in recent years the cost has come down a lot and so now the investment may be worth it for you.

You may have decided to install a wind turbine on your property. These are a clean and reliable source of power as long as you live in a place with sufficient wind. The installation costs for these have reduced dramatically in the last thirty years. Advances in the technology have also made the machinery more efficient so that it is getting more power from the same amount of wind.

It is now becoming popular to install these technologies yourself. There are do it yourself kits available with everything you need. These are a lot cheaper than having a company carry out the installation. You can do it for even less money by building the solar panels or turbine from scratch. Most of the necessary parts can be purchased from hardware stores or on the internet. There are also many websites with information on the construction process and how to calculate the sizes of panels and turbines you will need.

Alternative energy solutions are being sought by many people as they try to save money and lower their carbon footprint. The internet is a mine of information you can utilize to start your search.

Since 1970, the top retailer for <noindex>solar power</noindex> toys offers a wide variety of resources to aspiring scientists. Learn about alternative energy solutions, among other scientific knowledge, with these high-quality <noindex>science lab equipment</noindex>.

If you are new to the world of solar panels, you may be wondering how you can make sure that you buy the best product for your money. It seems like there are always new developments in the technology used to create solar panels, which makes it even harder to choose the right product.

The first thing you will notice when researching solar panels is size differences. There are larger and smaller panels. Solar panels are typically priced in dollars per Watt. Generally the size of the panel is directly related to the amount of Watts it produces–the more Watts the panel generates, the larger the panel will be. Well, this is the case when you are looking at panels that are made out of the same material.

In addition to this, the type of solar cells used to create the panels can also determine size. There are three main types of solar cells: mono-crystalline silicon, poly-crystalline silicon, and amorphous silicon.

Mono-Crystalline Silicon
This is by far the most efficient solar cell material. It produces smaller sized cells. As a result, it also produces smaller sized panels. Even though they are smaller, they can produce the same amount of energy as larger sized panels that generate the same amount of power.

Poly-Crystalline Silicon
This is the next most efficient solar cell material. They produce slightly larger panels than mono-crystalline silicon solar cells.

Amorphous Silicon
These produce the least efficient cells and are composed of less silicon than the materials listed above. Because they are less efficient, the panels they produce need more area to generate the same amount of power as the examples above. This means that the panels they produce will be much larger. One advantage of this material is that it can be used on irregular or curved surfaces that solid panels would not be suitable for.

Knowing what solar panels are made of will give you a good idea of which panels may provide more quality. Remember too that it is important to calculate the amount of electricity you use before buying solar panels. This way you will know that you are buying a product that can produce enough energy to account for your energy use. Also, look for a good warranty. Reputable panels typically have a warranty of about 25 years.

Green energy is a huge source of power. It gets down to Earth under the form of solar radiations, which can be captured and transformed into other energy forms: thermal energy, mechanical energy or electric energy. This means that solar power, after being transformed properly, can be used in fields from medicine to farming. The solar power was ignored when it came to its usable resource, until 100 years ago. Today, solar energy is present everywhere and its uses are expanding by the day. Regardless of the numerous possibilities, solar energy is still used in only two major ways:

Green energy is a huge source of power. It gets down to Earth under the form of solar radiations, which can be captured and transformed into other energy forms: thermal energy, mechanical energy or electric energy. This basically makes solar power usable in anything where energy is required. Humans first discovered solar power as a renewable energy source during the last century. During our times, we use solar energy for various purposes and we try everyday to expand its power and properties. An important amount of the used solar energy is covered by two areas:

- For the production of thermal energy that can heat up water.

- To produce electrical power. This is the child of a long research and evolution process, from powering pocket calculators to solar plants, which can assure the power needed for endless residential areas. But these are not the only uses of solar power, and the best proof of this are the numerous current devices that use it, from hand watches to satellites.

The human kind has decided to try and use solar energy as an alternative to classic sources because this type of energy is free and renewable, it’s easy to find and capture and it has no side effects on our polluted environment. Since the process of transforming sun power into usable power does not pollute in any way, it’s a good idea to start capturing it more and more, because people should be aware of the planet’s slowly degrading process.

Clearly almost everyone that lives in major cities started to understand how affected out plant is right now. The percent of people who use solar panels has raised a lot since 2005, but it’s still insignificant when calculating percents. Never mind the low percent, the raise registered is the one that should be considered. Experts say that once the technology starts developing, the solar power will be utilized more often, until it will slowly begin to be the main electrical power source.

Some people find it difficult to get the necessary money for solar panels. Some people make bank lawns, others use tax lien investment methods to get those extra money.

The reason people don’t use solar power as much as they are expected to are numerous. The main factor that makes the solar panels technology not very accessible to ordinary people are the purchasing costs. This is why the initial investment in a solar power system for a house is big, even if the amortization of the price is produced over time, because the systems are usually feeble and can function 10 to 30 years without lots of maintenance costs.

Why we use solar energy? Humans use solar power to produce renewable energy for different work environments or at home. But it is mainly used in producing electric energy with the help of solar panels.

Is solar power expensive? The energy from the sun is free of charge. It’s the mechanism we use to stock the power that cost. It’s not always easy to find money for this investment, but you can get creative and use domain for profit strategies to get extra income.

How many years can I use my solar system? Solar panels that are used to transform solar power into thermal energy can be used for almost 2 decades. The panels that have been furbished to give us electrical power are longer lasting, and we can rely on them for more than 25 years.

How long before I recover my investment? The amortization of the initial investment in a solar system is hard to calculate in general because it depends on many variables. People can appreciate that they’ve already earn the investment money back anywhere between 3 to 10 years. What happens if the sky isn’t clear or during the winter? Solar panels and photovoltaic that are available nowadays function at all time, not only when the conditions are ideal. This means that they do their job even under cloudy skies, during winter and low temperatures and even at night. But, their performances are highly influenced by exterior conditions. If such a solar system is installed in earth regions which do not present ideal conditions, the revenue we can save by installing them decreases.

If I install a solar system, can I unsubscribe from my electricity company? This would be possible only under the ideal conditions described above. In daily use, a backup system is necessary, like having a power generator or not giving up to the power supply subscription. Solar systems that can successfully comply and fill in a big house’s electrical needs are very big and expensive, this is why most people use an alternative solutions for periods when it’s not so sunny outside.

The cost of solar panels will become more affordable in the foreseeable future. This is due partly because of new research found that extends the life of a solar panel. Once expected only to last 20 years, new results found that the true life expectancy of solar panels is 30 years. This will encourage more consumers to choose this kind of renewable energy as an alternative to traditional electricity grids.

Green research institutes as well as various governments have been encouraging consumers to choose solar energy. In addition to encouraging consumers, they have also been encouraging financial institutions such as banks to make the finances available for this type of purchase.

Some governments across Europe have been offering incentive programs for homeowners to install solar panels onto their homes which have brought down the costs of solar panels even further. China has also been offering domestic incentive plans for their citizens as well. The US and India have similar plans in the pipelines for solar panels, which will increase the demand even further pulling prices down as well.

Paying itself back is the name of the game. The real expense of solar panels is buying the physical equipment and paying for installation. The rest is basically free because you are relying on natural, free energy.

There are optimistic goals set out in the renewable energy industry. Some experts in the field are setting their expectations as high as having half of Europe dependent on solar energy in comparison to electricity grids as soon as 2020. Not only that, but with increased demand and usage it will make solar energy as cheap as buying it from an electricity grid.

Increase demand for renewable energy is growing around the globe. This means that the solar panel industry will boom, creating more profits for the companies involved, allowing them to cut costs even further.

The <noindex>cost of solar panel</noindex> hardware is going down, so it is possible to get a <noindex>cheap solar panel</noindex>. Start using solar generated energy today!

Electricity is something which we have only become more dependent on since it was first made available to our homes. Of course, electricity can be quite expensive, but our modern lifestyles require access to a steady supply of electrical energy, so people will make sacrifices in other areas to keep this essential utility on.

Of course people didn’t pay their bills without any pressure especially if they do not practice energy conservation techniques. As your household expands, it becomes increasingly difficult to keep the electricity consumption to its minimal. Sometimes when you shop for new electronic items, you often think about the electricity it consumes and then finally conclude that the purchase is not worth it.

There is also the issue that the electrical energy available to most of us comes from non-renewable sources such as fossil fuels; and given the rapidly growing pace of energy consumption, these fuels may be depleted in our own lifetimes. The best way to preserve these dwindling natural resources is not to try to conserve the electricity which comes from these non-renewable fuels, but to use alternative sources of energy.

Fortunately, there is ongoing research with the various energy alternatives with all of them used today. Solar power plants currently exist to provide clean energy to facilities while wind generators power small cities that are on higher grounds. Other energy alternatives are also being looked into, solar and wind power remain as the most accessible resources.

When you start using these types of energy to supply your home with electricity, you’ll be using less fossil fuel and paying less to your utility company. In some cases, you can become completely energy independent or even sell back energy to your utility company!

The only problem that lies between you and energy independence is the materials that you need to make use of the alternative energy. Solar panels should immediately be out of the equation if you expect it to power your entire home. This is because solar panels are difficult to obtain and expensive to order. The delicate material also requires good shipping making it more expensive when ordered online. You also need a lot of solar panels to get the needed electricity and the solar panels cannot function during the night time.

However, wind power is something which many people can begin using easily. Using readily available, inexpensive parts you can easily build a wind turbine for your household’s use. You can find everything you need online or at local scrap yards at a low cost. There are also plenty of instructional material and even video tutorials available online which walk you through this simple project so you can begin making your own clean, renewable energy. If you have a knack for building wind turbines and enough space to mount them, you can supply your home with all of the energy it needs.

Wind power has a very bright future ahead of it; they are easy and inexpensive to build and provide a lot of energy savings in a short time. This alternative energy source is just as environmentally friendly and effective as solar energy, but at a fraction of the cost.

Looking for something that can teach you how to build your own <noindex>residential wind turbine</noindex> really easily and quick? This is a good site to learn. You will see how you can build a <noindex>home wind generator</noindex> at home easily.

Until approximately a hundred years ago in the West, people only had recourse to renewable energy for heat and light for their homes. They burnt wood and sometimes coal or peat (OK, fossil fuels) and got up when the sun came up and went to bed with the sun as well. In, fact a large proportion of the world’s inhabitants still lives like that.

Things changed with mechanized industry and night shifts. Electricity providers sold the populace on being able to do more instead of just sleeping when it got dark, and the Western population got hooked on buying huge amounts of energy, mostly electricity and engine fuel, which was usually produced from oil and coal.

This idea soon travelled around the world and with rising affluence came emulation and other countries wanted the same. Now we are in the sad predicament where we have to admit that we rode the fossil fuel gravy train to its terminus without thinking about what we would use when fossil fuels ran out.

This is where the typical citizen comes in. You have to think about how you want to draw energy in the future. Do you want to be powered by keeping sucking unrenewable resources out of the planet, or do you want to have as little to do with it as you can? Would you rather have everything you have now, but know that the resources that are powering your lifestyle are renewable?

If, like millions of others around the world, you would rather say ‘No!’ to traditional power production methods, then you have to take a stand. But not only in words, you really have to do some something about it physically.

This will mean paying a lot of money up front, which may not be a problem for you or you may even think that taking a stand is worth looking for a bank loan. These are commendable feelings, but I would like to suggest that there is another way to self-sufficiency.

You could make your own!

Why not? The technology has been around for decades and is fairly easy. Most reasonably competent teenagers can put together a bank of photovoltaic cells into a solar panel and then plug that into your home’s electrical system. And if a teenager can manage it, so can you. All you (and the teenager) will require is a solar panel kit and a schematical diagram. A plan in other words.

A solar panel kit can be bought in your neighbourhood from a DIY shop or from the Internet. A typical solar panel will take a few hours to assemble and will produce 100 watts of electrical energy. The electricity produced from these panels is then passed through an inverter that changes the current from DC to AC, making it usable by household appliances and the utility grid.

Do yourself and the planet a favour, get off the grid and start saving money and the planet’s resources, you will be surprised how straightforward it is once you get going. And do not forget, you can do it in stages of, say, one 100 watt panel a month until you hit self-sufficiency. It is not a question of ‘All or Nothing’.

It is almost high noon on the energy front. Oil, the substance that is used to create most of the world’s electricity is becoming too dear to use to produce electricity for home consumption. Even if you believe that there are lakes of oil left, which might be true, the main reason they have not been exploited yet is because it is too expensive to get out. The only thing that makes it a going concern is the high price of oil on the market.

Therefore, it stands to reason that oil prices cannot go down in the long term, which means that our electricity and petrol prices will stay high and will probably keep going up. Add to that the fact that manufacturing is moving to the Far East and the fact that immigration is rising and the result is lower wages in the West. The probability is that the average national wage will not rise as rapidly as the price of energy.

So what can you do about it? Well, while commodity prices are bound to keep increasing, one thing has always kept falling and that is the cost of new technology. Or to be more precise, somewhat old technology. Cutting edge technology is always dear, but after a few years the price falls, as we saw with desktop computers and as we are seeing with laptop computers now.

The same phenomenon is at work with solar panels. They are far less expensive now than they were a few years ago and they are far more responsive too. And did you know that the bits and pieces that are used to make solar panels can be purchased from plastic bins at most DIY and hobbyist stores like Radio Shack? If you knew what to buy you could literally go out and bring back enough bits and pieces to make a few solar panels the next time you go out for a loaf of bread.

So why are we not doing it? We did not know that was feasible? Nobody told us? We are not technologically minded? We do not have the skill?

OK, all those reasons sound valid. Nobody has been telling us, but the truth is that it is straightforward to construct solar panels and not that expensive any more. Professional installations are still prohibitively expensive – about $45,000 -, but you can do it yourself. There are two routes you can take.

You can either get a schematic drawing, a plan, from a hobbyist shop or the Internet, purchase the components and build your panel or you can buy a self-assembly kit. Really, there are kits about that teenagers can assemble as easily as they do a plastic model airplane. ‘Locate and insert part number 44 into the main board number 3′ – that sort of simple.

If you are new to the world of solar energy, then you may be wondering how solar energy panels work? Solar energy panels are also known as photovoltaic panels; photovoltaic meaning electricity from light. Solar energy panels work by collecting protons from the sun, which displace neutrons, and thereby generate a flow of electrons or electricity. This electricity can either be stored in batteries for later use or used directly.

You can use solar panels to heat your pool, run your workshop tools, power the greenhouse lights and fans or if your system is big enough, supplant grid electricity in your whole home or business. Most solar energy panels are intended to last upwards of 20 years but involve little to no looking after.

There is a drop-off of the power supply after about 10 years of about 10%, but over the life-time of the solar panels, the energy savings made are enough to recoup the original cost of the system and more. Furthermore, prices are dropping while energy prices are rising. It already makes economic sense to switch to solar energy power.
